Children in the filmmakers club have been learning about camera shots and angles. This week they learnt how to use a shoulder rig. This piece of equipment allows the camera operator to film on the go.
They have also been using a camera track (dolly). This device allows the camera operator to track the action, making smooth movements with the camera.
Filmmakers club is lead every Thursday after school by Deanna and James from Cheeky George Productions. Children work as film crews under the titles of The Spielberg’s, The Howard’s and The Burton’s. They have learnt about different crew roles, purpose of the clapperboard, shots, angles and camera movements as well as using professional equipment.
Over the next couple of weeks the club will be aiming to film a Mockumentary, which will hopefully be premiered in school at the end of the summer term.
