Outdoor Learning in EYFS

20/09/19

As the weather has been lovely this week, EYFS have made the most of their outdoor area - challenging themselves with a variety of obstacle courses, building houses in the construction area, exploring with water, playing with the sand and digging in the garden.

In Reception we have been learning about the book Owl Babies. In the story, the Mummy owl leaves and the owl babies feel sad wondering about where their Mummy has gone. When Mummy owl comes back the owls feel excited and happy. We have talked about the feelings that we experience at school during the day. We have also been talking about our families and the people or pets that live with us.

We have been very creative using different materials such as toilet rolls, feathers, playdough, twigs, among others, to make our own ‘Owl’ representations.
